Year 7 ~ Totus Tuus ~ Day 6

… admiration is at the root of our contemplative life… we must maintain admiration for the Father’s acts. We must… understand the practical character of this prevenient mercy: educating us in humility and plunging us into humility, showing us that everything that is great, true, and good comes from the Father’s mercy. God loved us first. God does everything. When there is something good in us, it comes from God, from the Father, from his mercy. We learn true humility, contemplative, divine humility, when we understand that everything stems from mercy and that we have no “rights” which do not come from God…

The Devil is irritated by the mystery of the Immaculate Conception, for he cannot bear such gratuitous, foundational and enveloping mercy. He cannot bear the fatherhood of God. He accepts God as creator, but he does not accept him as Father… the mystery of the Immaculate Conception should be the “cause of our joy”, because there is no more radical act of mercy than this…
