1 Pt 1:4 – 7

We are to share an inheritance that is incorruptible, inviolable, unfading. It is stored up for you in heaven; and meanwhile, through your faith, the power of God affords you safe conduct till you reach it, this salvation which is waiting to be disclosed at the end of time. Then you will be triumphant. What if you have trials of many sorts to sadden your hearts in this brief interval? That must needs happen, so that you may give proof of your faith, a much more precious thing than the gold we test by fire…

In Conversation with God:

We have seen the years of our life passing without knowing how to quench that hidden thirst which could not be satisfied…

One can… say that this ‘loving look’ of Christ, contains, as it were, a summary and a synthesis of the entire Good News… Man needs this ‘loving look’. He needs to know that he is loved, ‘loved eternally’, and specially chosen from eternity…

God’s plans do not always coincide with ours, with those we forge in our imagination, in our dreams. God’s plans, in one way or another, always demand detachment from everything that enchains. If we are to follow Christ, our soul must be free…

The young man… went away said; he was not willing to respond to grace. He went away sorrowful, because true happiness is possible only when there is generosity and detachment…

Totus Tuus:

Virgin of hope, dawn of a new era, we join in your song of praise, and celebrate the Lord’s mercy, to proclaim the coming of the kingdom and the full liberation of humanity…

The mystery of the Immaculate Conception… helps us to understand what the Father’s mercy is… which restores all things. The Father’s mercy does not just rehabilitate the prodigal son. It goes much further… It takes hold and envelops everything in Mary…

Although it is first of all a separation from the fall, the Immaculate Conception is at the same time a perfect harmony of the whole human nature… The Father recreates his masterpiece. Man did something monstrous to the masterpiece of God. He impeded the mercy of God. He prevented the Father’s act from being fully expressed and consequently destroyed the work of God. The Father renews everything in divine harmony. In the fullest sense, Mary is truly and perfectly the image of God… In her soul and in her body, she is, as it were, the mirror that reflects the splendor of its origin…

CCC #144

To obey (from the Latin ob-audire, to “hear or listen to”) in faith is to submit freely to the word that has been heard, because its truth is guaranteed by God, who is Truth itself. Abraham is the model of such obedience offered us by Sacred Scripture. The Virgin Mary is its most perfect embodiment.

… you know i’ll fight my corner… give a little time to me, i’ll burn this out, we’ll play hide and seek to turn this around… give me love…
