In Conversation with God:

We preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to the Jews and folly to the Gentiles. Christ’s message will always clash with the views of a society that has grown sick through a surfeit of materialism and whose attitude to life is one of conformity and of comfortable well-being.

Virilitir age. Be strong and let your heart take courage…

Our knowledge of Christ’s doctrine should be appropriate to our level of education, to our age, to the level of our responsibility for young people, the environment and the society in which we live… We should have a very precise knowledge… of the demands made by charity, which go even beyond the demands of justice…

In the vocabulary of Roman law the word depositum means those goods which are entrusted by one person to another with the understanding that they will be returned intact on request. Saint Paul applied this legal term to the truths of Revelation and this is how it entered into Catholic teaching. The truths of the faith are entrusted by one generation to another. These truths are not the product of human reasoning. They proceed directly from God… Whosoever ignores the teachings of the Magesterium can only provide the teachings of men, teachings which can undermine the faith and put at risk one’s salvation. The preacher of the Gospel will therefore be a person who, even at the price of personal renunciation and suffering, always seek the truth that he must transmit to others. He never betrays or hides truth out of a desire to please men, in order to astonish or shock, nor for sake of originality or a desire to make an impression…

… the issue is not about sacrificing one’s freedom… the question is about preserving everything that makes freedom worth having and sharing…

… they’re trying to tell me how to feel, this love is difficult but it’s real…
