Meds

Is 7:13 – 14

Why then, said Isaias, listen to me, you that are of David’s race. Cannot you be content with trying the patience of men? Must you try my God’s patience too? Sign you ask none, but sign the Lord will give you. Maid shall be with child, and shall bear a son, that shall be called Emmanuel.

In Conversation with God:

… as lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.

Men, both good and evil, living and dead, will gather to him; all men will turn irresistibly towards Christ triumphant, some attracted by love, others forced by justice…

And now they will all understand with complete clarity the value of self-denial, of sacrifice, or surrender to God and to other people…

The spreaders of heresy will receive the punishment that they accumulated throughout the centuries, as their errors passed from one person to another, and were an obstacle that prevented many from finding salvation…

It is in regard to death that man’s condition is most shrouded in doubt. Man is tormented not only by pain and by the gradual breaking-up of his body but, also, and even more, by the dread of forever ceasing to be. But a deep instinct leads him rightly to shrink from and to reject the utter ruin and total loss of his personality. Because he bears in himself the seed of eternity, which cannot be reduced to mere matter, he rebels against death…

… this woman, chosen and predestined from all eternity to be the mother of the Saviour, had consecrated her virginity to God, renouncing the honour of counting the Messiah among her direct descendants… she is prefigured in the Book of Proverbs: Ages ago I was set up, at the first, before the beginning of the earth…

Like a vine I caused loveliness to bud, and my blossoms became glorious and abundant fruit. I am the mother of all love, all reverence, all true knowledge, and the holy gift of hope…

… He granted her so much grace that under God, it would be impossible to conceive of anyone greater than she: such was to be her state that no one, apart from God, could even begin to comprehend it. Her dignity is almost infinite…

For each one of us, our vocation is the central theme of our lives…

To follow and love one’s own vocation is the most important and joyously fulfilling thing in life…

Through Baptism we have all received a vocation to seek God in the fulness of love. For the ordinary life of man among his fellows is not something dull and uninteresting. It is there, in their ordinary lives, that God wants the vast majority of his children to achieve sanctity…

Ordinary life is something of great value. All the ways of the earth can be an opportunity to meet Christ…

Confessions:

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ: for in Him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
