Jer 23:7 – 8

In those days to come, says the divine message, the living Lord men swear by will no longer be the God who rescued Israel from Egypt; the living God will be one who rescued Israel and brought them home from the north country, and from all the places of exile he had once designed for them, to live in their own land again.

Ps 72:12 – 14

He will give the poor redress when they cry to him, destitute folk, with none to befriend them; in their need and helplessness, they shall have his compassion. Their lives he will take into his keeping, set them free from the power of wrong and oppression, dearly avenge their blood.

Mt 1:24 – 25

And Joseph awoke from sleep, and did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, taking his wife to himself; and he had not known her when she bore a son, her first-born, to whom he gave the name Jesus.

In Conversation with God:

… the dignity of virginity stems from the Mother of God…

… virginity keeps alive in the Church the awareness of the mystery of marriage and defends it against all attempts to impoverish it or reduce its importance. It frees the heart of a man in a special way… bearing witness to the fact that the Kingdom of God and its justice is a pearl of great price to be preferred to any other treasure however great its value may be…

We should have a great love for celibacy and chastity, because they are concrete and tangible proofs of our love of God…

Virginity and apostolic celibacy not only do not contradict the dignity of marriage but presuppose and confirm it…

For both single and married people, Mary’s virginity is also a call to live with finesse the virtue of holy purity…

… be humble, pure, sincere, cheerful and generous. ‘All the sins of your life seem to be rising up against you. Don’t give up hope! On the contrary, call to your holy Mother Mary, with the faith and abandonment of a child. She will bring peace to your soul.’

… your love breaks away the clouds surrounding me…
… the man wrinkles his face but it’s already worn, the coffee is sour and the shirt is torn, but the smile is bigger than the Atlantic sea…
