Let charity be genuine. . . . Love one another with brotherly affection. . . . Rejoice in your hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality. ~ CCC #1971

… present your bodies a living sacrifice holy, pleasing unto God… and be not conformed to this world… Let love be without dissimulation… If it be possible, as much as is in you, have peace with all men… The love for our neighbour worketh no evil. Love therefore is the fulfilling of the law. And that, knowing the season, that it is now the hour for us to rise from sleep. For now our salvation is nearer than when we believed. The night is passed and the day is at hand. Let us therefore cast off the works of darkness and put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day: not rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and impurities, not in contention and envy. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ… For none of us liveth to himself: and no man dieth to himself. For whether we live, we live unto the Lord: or whether we die, we die unto the Lord… For to this end Christ died and rose again: that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living. ~ Rom 12 – 15

… the eye cannot say to the hand: I need not thy help. Nor again the head to the feet: I have no need of you… if one member suffer any thing, all the members suffer with it: or if one member glory, all the members rejoice with it… Charity is patient, is kind: charity envieth not, dealeth not perversely, is not puffed up, is not ambitious, seeketh not her own, is not provoked to anger, thinketh no evil: Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth with the truth: Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never falleth away: whether prophecies shall be made void or tongues shall cease or knowledge shall be destroyed… We see now through a glass in a dark manner: but then face to face… now there remain faith, hope and charity, these three: but the greatest of these is charity. ~ 1 Cor 12 – 13

For you are dead: and your life is hid with Christ in God… now put you also all away: anger, indignation, malice, blasphemy, filthy speech out of your mouth… Put ye on therefore… holy and beloved… mercy, benignity, humility, modesty, patience: Bearing with one another and forgiving one another… above all these things have charity, which is the bond of perfection. ~ Col 3 – 4

… henceforth we be no more children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the wickedness of men, by cunning craftiness by which they lie in wait to deceive. But doing the truth in charity… Let all bitterness and anger and indignation and clamour and blasphemy be put away from you, with all malice. And be ye kind to one another: merciful, forgiving one another, even as God hath forgiven you in Christ… So also ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever hated his own flesh, but nourisheth and cherisheth it, as also Christ doth the church: Because we are members of his body, of his flesh and of his bones. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother: and shall cleave to his wife. And they shall be two in one flesh. ~ Eph 3 – 4

  • dissimulate – conceal or disguise

In Conversation with God:

We need penance in our life… We must not avoid it out of fear, or because we are skeptical about its usefulness, or because we lack supernatural outlook. You are afraid of penance? … Of penance, which will help you obtain Life everlasting? And yet, in order to preserve this poor present life, don’t you see how men will submit to all the cruel torture of a surgical operation? … Each time that Jesus sinks to the ground under the weight of the Cross we should be filled with horror, because it is our own sins and the sins of all men that weigh God down.

…He walked the dirty streets, famous for nothing… He left the curtain torn… He chose to take the cross, shed tear for the lost, the broken, and the needy, forgiving those who were and will be… with love He gave His life so we could be free…
… You can heal the heartache, speak over the fear…
… tick tock, hear the clock countdown, wish the minute-hand could be rewound, so much to do and so much i need to say, will tomorrow be too late…
… the broken clock is a comfort, it helps me sleep tonight, maybe it can stop tomorrow from stealing all my time, iam here still waiting, though i still have my doubts, i am damaged at best, like you’ve already figured out, i’m falling apart, I=i’m barely breathing, with a broken heart that’s still beating…
… and suddenly i become a part of your past, i’m becoming the part that don’t last, i’m losing you and it’s effortless…
