When tested on mice, scientists came to believe that caffeine interferes with neurodegeneration caused by toxic sugar levels and can potentially prevent memory impairment in humans with a type 2 diabetic condition. The mice were rendered diabetic with a high-fat diet, then slowly introduced to caffeine in their water supply. It occurs to me that I haven’t read or heard of a whole lot in favor of caffeine; one tends to generalize that it keeps you awake and that it is addictive and leave it at that. It’s certainly an interesting report.
